One Year in Yerevan
About 15 years ago, I had to step away from my career as a professional photographer and artistic documentary photographer, during which I regularly exhibited in galleries across Slovakia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and other countries.
External circumstances forced me to take a different path and though I've missed the art of photography, life sometimes demands adaptation.
My wife was offered a position with an NGO in Yerevan, and we decided to embrace this opportunity as a family. We relocated to Armenia in April 2024 for a year, and I, along with our one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, embarked on a unique kind of paternity leave.
I quickly developed a fondness for the people and landscapes of Armenia and I found myself drawn back to the lens resuming my passion. Navigating the city with a stroller and camera in hand, I spent countless hours exploring Yerevan, capturing candid moments with locals in parks and on the streets. I was fascinated by the city's diverse character and the warmth of its people. Weekends were spent venturing into the Armenian countryside, exploring ancient ruins and breathtaking natural beauty. These journeys provided endless opportunities to expand my photographic portfolio.
